Weight is a constant battle amongst people of all ages. Insecure…low self-esteem…unattractive…embarrassed…disappointed…scared…these are some of the feelings many people, myself included, struggle with throughout their lives as they battle with weight. Hi, my name is Maria Acosta and this is my story.
Throughout my childhood and well into my adulthood, I battled with weight. Food was my passion, but most of all, I had a love for sweets (and still do). It wasn’t until I reached rock bottom that made me realize I needed to change my eating habits and lifestyle. However, changing my eating habits was not sufficient, I needed to do something more. I felt I needed to prove to my friends, family, society that I could make this change, but most importantly I needed to prove it to myself.
My journey towards weight loss and a healthier lifestyle began at a gym…working out slowly at least once a week for 30 minutes. Although I wanted instantaneous results, I knew I had an uphill battle to fight…slowly, but surely, I’d get the results I wanted…just had to stick with it. As time went on, I started adding more days and classes to my fitness regimen. Eventually, I lost 35 lbs and started feeling great about myself, but felt my body needed a jolt. I was hitting a plateau (not losing or gaining…just there). My next goal was to lose another 10-15 lbs and tone my body. I asked myself, “How will you be able to reach that goal?” I needed someone who was patient, kept things fun, yet challenged me to try new routines. I wanted a customized workout by a trained professional. The answer was to hire a personal trainer.
It’s been a year since I’ve been training with Reno (http://www.flawlessscience.com/the-body/) and have noticed a transformation in my physique, body strength, and overall health. Since the start of my training sessions, I have dropped two dress sizes, lost inches, lost an additional 10 lbs, and feel energized. Fitness has not only become my passion, but a new way of living. Reno is not only my trainer, but a friend. We have shared pictures and our weight struggling stories with each other.
