Who wants to spend five dollars on a frozen coffee? Not this girl. I can tell you about twenty other things I would RATHER buy with my money. Like I don’t know five things from dollar tree, 4 lbs of tomatoes, new nail polish, dog treats, anything! Not to mention the fact that those frozen coffees have TONS of calories, sugar, and fat! I originally set out to make a healthy frozen mocha, but in order to do that I think you need baking cocoa. So here is my version of a frozen coffee coolata. Did I mention the best part? IT HAS 26 grams of protein in it! Does the “BUCKS” give you that? I think not!
I will be perfecting this drink soon, but this is a pretty damn good early morning breakfast- Feel free to play with flavors!
I used-
2 cups of ice
1/2 cup of almond milk
1 tbsp of light brown sugar (you can use whatever sugar you want. I just really wanted the brown sugar for this.)
1 tbsp of plain greek yogurt (you could omit this if you wanted, I just think it helped with the creamy factor)
1 cup of cooled brewed coffee
1 package of The Flawless Whey (dutch chocolate or vanilla)
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Make sure coffee is cooled before you make this. You could stick it in the fridge overnight to make sure. Stick all ingredients in a blender and blend well. If you need more ice to get the consistency you want go ahead and add it!
Basically the only calories are from the protein powder, almond milk, the tbsp of brown sugar, and the 1 measly tbsp of chobani yogurt. I would say this rings in at around 160 calories, 26 grams of protein, and 2.5 grams of fat.
Put that five bucks BACK into your pocket. Enjoy!
